Kaiser is horrible, May, 2018
After a year, Kaiser still can not fill out the disability forms. The representatives are very rude. If you are lucky, you will get a representative that will not cuss at you or hang up on you. I would rather deal with the IRS than with Kaiser
kaiser is bad medicine, March, 2019
its not so much the neglect and the mistakes that they have made over my many years with them. Its that they spend more energy in covering up their misconduct and fraud rather than work with patients and providers to solve these problems. Thumbs down on Kaiser.
Bills are not transparent and bad doctors, November, 2018
I have Kaiser Gold and my co-pay for ultrasound should be $55 which I payed before the procedure. Later on I received a bill of $1100, the original cost was $2600, from which insurance payed $1500. The ultrasound was not even made by a doctor, but by a trained person who only knew how to make bunch of pictures without being able to interpret them. I don't understand why in USA we have such enormous prices for such services. In Costa Rica this exact procedure is done by a real doctor who knows what he is doing without very long waiting time (I waited almost an hour) for $25-$35. These $1100 would nicely cover all my expanses for a ticket of a whole month stay at airbnb private house by a beach in a tropical forest including delicious organic fruits and veggies (self cooked at my private vila). If I knew at the time of my office visit or before that my bill would be so high, I would definitely will cancel the procedure. The problem is that they are not transparent about their costs and notify about charges only after the procedure. I feel fooled.
On top of that I complained to my doctor about my bloating and gases problem that lasts for 2-3 years already and I would like to get a referral to GI doctor. This didn't convince her to do that, she said that some people have more serious problems like cancer and my problem was due to stress! She then gave me a questioner with questions like if my husband beats me, do I feel depressed and so on! This was ridiculous experience! Even in Russia people get much better treatment. How would I able to detect serious problem if I cannot get a right attention to my ongoing problem?
I really want to stay away from KP now.
No more Kaiser for us, February, 2015
After being on Kaiser from the age of six months to now at 58 and never having a problem, all that has changed. In the last few years the rates have gone up and up and service has gotten worse. It's all about the money. I have a chronic, painful condition- arthritis in my neck (diagnosed by a Kaiser Dr.) and TMJ. I have had an RX for a pain med and muscle relaxer for years, which was used only as needed and sparingly. I was sent a notice recently that they had assigned me a new Dr. after years of seeing the old one who never gave me a problem with refills. I recently sent in a refill request for my meds and the request was denied saying I had to come in for "lab tests" and an evaluation to determine "if I actually had the condition and or if it still existed" What??? NO! I'm not stupid and know Arthritis and TMJ do not resolve. They are permanant conditions and "lab tests etc. are NOT necessary for these conditions. They only want me to come in and pay the MUCH higher than before co-pays to run tests that are not necessary and are worthless as far as my conditions. They kept me going through tons of red tape and hearings I didn't request only to keep denying me my meds. NO more Kaiser for us. We are leaving and going to a new health plan. Kaiser is no longer the good company it once was. Now it's corporate greed.
It is Cost cutting at the expense of the patient, June, 2017
Atlanta, GA- I have chronic back pain issues, I have been to pain management at Kiaser Permente and PT outside twice, after 2 years of pain management I still have issues, and all treatment has ended in a bad outcome of me still having pain with bearing weight or carrying anything. bending squatting. I am constantly ask did i crap my pants, and it becomes obvious that you have to suffer spinal cord damage to be sent for a surgery consultation. The only way to stop constant pain and give someone their life back with some types of disc disorders is surgery. Kiaser only provides this if you crap you pants regularly to be sent to a surgeon. Its obvious cost controls are the business practice and its at the expense of the pain and suffering of the patients at Kiaser permente.
Great service and Care, September, 2013
I LOVE Kaiser for my medical needs. I had cancer and can say that every person who helped me was outstanding in their skills, personal demeanor, kindness and caring. I spent a week in the hospital and now see my doctor every four months, although more frequently at first. I can honestly say that this is a 5 star company!
I am very "picky" and do NOT gush needlessly!
Expensive, Selective, Unopposed, July, 2020
I was pretty much stuck with only having Kaiser as my insurance. I got the "good deal" through my work, so that way I didn't have a $5k annual deductible. Now, a $0 is one of the benefits of my plan, however the drawback is that I barely have any coverage.
A friend of mine has a special union rate where they can get a weekly massage for $10 per visit. My Kaiser insurance doesn't even cover massages, so they typically cost $90, even with a referral.
The healthcare system in this country is so broken. People like me are suffering from crippling pain and can't get the care they need while Kaiser takes huge chunks out of my paycheck every month.
Negligent and Dishonest, June, 2020
They injured me with an improperly placed injection, causing years of pain and loss of use of my arm. They promised to cover co-pays for treatment of this accident, but have reneged after a year and a half. So I have to pay for them to try to undo the damage they've caused me?
Horrible, unacceptable "Member Services".. FRAUD, January, 2020
"Member Services" failed to settle dispute with our family plan coverage! Husband has been paying for FOUR MONTHS family plan coverage for family of three. When activated our NEW policy, KP pulled a decades OLD policy and REFUSED to acknowledge THEIR ERROR therefore NOT COVERING OUR FAMILY! Absolute laziness and incompetence from this "Health Provider", socialist medicine plain and simple... Take our money but DON'T RECOGNIZE THE PAID COVERAGE, really KP???!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, they steal your money and in return DON'T PROVIDE PAID FOR SERVICES!!!!
Worse Insurance, March, 2019
Worse Insurance that I ever had. I will definitely NEVER recommend to anyone else. Very limiting an ineffective insurance overall.
Kaiser, February, 2015
Kaiser has treat us grate, as far as I'am concerned there the best. My wife just had back surgery. They did a good job.
No can do one, November, 2014
Cannot review as haven't talked with an agent as of yet.
great company so far, October, 2015
Fair company .
I was insured by the company I work for until the cost got to heavy for the company to bear.
Wonderful company, November, 2014
I am unable to afford Cobra sense I lost my job. Also Kaiser doesn't cover people in my area because of no fasilities close. I was only covered because of my job.
I'm looking for a plan that also have drug coverage..
Service has gotten much better recently. Easier to get appointments. Emergency room handling is quite easy and quick.
Left job, insurance ending
I like to continue with Kaiser
Too expensive, November, 2013
Kaiser is great but I don't think $438.46 is considered affordable healthcare. I was hoping that I could get something less expensive.
love them, October, 2013
I love everything about Kaiser from the customer service to the Doctors.
Kaiser ROCKS, October, 2013
I love Kaiser and the only reason I can no longer stay with them is because my employer has dropped them as an option. I am so devastated by this. I would recommend Kaiser to everyone.
KP is a great plan, October, 2013
I wish my retiree medical insurance would still cover it after 1-2014
